If you are thinking about a career in community services, this course will provide you with the first step to obtaining a qualification. Through practical training you will gain an understanding of a variety of community services qualifications such as aged care, disability work, youth work, mental health and children’s services.

This course is delivered online with students attending interactive classes 1 day per week from 9.00am to 4pm over 19 weeks. The course will commence in Mid March 2011. The course consists of on line learning, workplace visits, industry visitors presenting up to date useful and interesting information.

Possible careers
To apply for most community services employment positions you will need a minimum of Certificate III or IV in a chosen community services stream.


Course pre-requisites

Organisational, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to at least year 10 standard, plus appropriate attitudes and potential for working in the community services sector.


Other course requirements
Applicants are required to complete an online application form and will be sent out an application pack. They are required to complete the pack and return to Bendigo TAFE for staff to read over and make suitable student selection.
