Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, we have adapted our course delivery to now encompass a combination of remote and flexible delivery methods. This includes easy to navigate online tutorials, interactive learning (using a mix of live demonstrations and the ability to connect with your classmates and teachers for support) as well as face-to-face practical assessments and work placements – where safe and practical to implement. Therefore, you will require access to the internet and a computer to undertake this course. Our flexible model allows you to continue to study in a safe, guided and fully supported manner with continued access to all learning, personal and wellbeing supports. You will be advised by your facilitator on a case by case basis in relation to practical and work placement assessments, as some flexibility will be required during this challenging time.

The Certificate III in Production Horticulture course will allow you to gain skills and knowledge that will assist you to develop competencies to work as a garden labourer or horticulture worker/assistant.

  • You will need to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. This course involves outdoor/garden activities.

Course overview

This qualification provides a vocational outcome in production horticulture. The qualification enables individuals to select a tree cropping, vegetable or berry production, grape growing or mushroom production context as a job focus, or a mixture in the case of mixed enterprises. No occupational licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
