Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander

The Koorie Unit provides a learning environment where all students are respected and supported to learn new skills. The unit offers a range of support to its students (including those in mainstream courses) making sure you feel good about your Bendigo TAFE experience. Tutorial support is available for all courses.  Both Echuca and Bendigo City Campuses have dedicated work spaces for all courses.

There are courses available to assist you to improve your literacy, numeracy and employability skills in a dedicated course which focuses on your cultural heritage, along with those focussing on skills in a range of Visual Arts practices and Medias and generate a vocational approach to their art work.  Our students are encouraged to submit their work in a variety of competitions/awards both locally, regionally and beyond.

​Brett joined Bendigo TAFE initially to study Certificate  III in Hospitality at the Echuca Campus, he went on to successfully complete Certificate III in Tourism, and has since successfully completed Cert III and IV in Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Cultural Arts along with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is now a teacher with us, teaching at both the Echuca and Bendigo City Campus.  Read more about Brett's story here ...
