Koori Unit Scholarship

Koori Unit Scholarships are specially designed to support the learning and career goals of our Indigenous students across a variety of study areas. 

​Selection criteria

  • Must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Must be eligible for Government subsidies
  • Applicants under the age of 18 need to obtain parental/guardian consent before submitting a scholarship application.
  • Application does not mean the applicant will automatically be granted a scholarship. Your application does not guarantee you a place in your selected course.
  • Deferring the course will make the scholarship void.
  • The scholarship is to be used for one course and cannot be transferred to another course.
  • Scholarships are not redeemable for cash.
  • If a student fails a unit of competency from the course, they will incur any enrolment or other fees associated with resitting that unit.

What can it be used for

Tuition, Student Services Fee, course material cost (where applicable)

Conditions

  • Student will need to attend an interview.
  • Student may also be required to provide proof. i.e. Aboriginality Check. More information at http://www.aiatsis.gov.au/fhu/aboriginality.html
  • Unsuccessful applicants may be informed by the Koori Unit as to why they were unsuccessful. However, should you require further clarification you may want to contact the Koori Unit directly.
