Diploma of Information Technology

“I now know a lot about networking and programming and have a clearer view of what I want to do in the future.”

Joel hopes to build a career in network security and computer repairs, and his studies at Bendigo TAFE have set him on the very path to success.

“I’ve always been interested in IT. I did the certificate II course during year 11 and 12 at school and decided to keep furthering my studies,” he said.

“The teachers at Bendigo TAFE have been really great. I suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and usually have a short attention span, but the teachers made the course interesting and challenging.”

The IT protégé participated in the 2016 CISCO Networking Academy Netriders IT competition and emerged second place in Australia. His next steps are to progress into further studies at university.

“I now know a lot about networking and programming and have a clearer view of what I want to do in the future. My next steps are to complete a Bachelor of Information Technology at La Trobe University and hopefully work in network security at Bendigo Bank or computer repairs,” he said.
