​Recognition or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows you to receive recognition and credit towards a qualification for the knowledge and skills that you have gained  from:

• previous study
• employment experience
• life experience

We will appoint a facilitator to help you identify and document evidence to demonstrate that you meet the requirements of specific units of competency.  Find out more about RPL here ...

"Rapid" Recognition (RR)

Rapid Recognition is an RPL based program that assesses evidence against the requirements of one or more units of competency within a qualification.  Rapid Recognition requires the participant to be self-motivated and able to provide examples of evidence for each unit within the qualification or have a previous qualification where credit can be allocated towards an additional qualification. 

The length of time to complete recognition via Rapid Recognition is generally eight (8) weeks.  Find out more details about RR here ...

Why use Recognition services?

Do you:

• have lots of skills and experience from jobs, courses and/or community work, but you don't have the 'piece of paper' to prove it;
• want to change jobs or careers but don't know how to demonstrate that you have the skills required;
• work in a trade, but you need a formal qualification to help you get on;
• want a qualification to help you get a promotion.

If so, Skills Recognition may be for you.  You could get a vocational qualification, or part of a qualification, without having to study what you already know. 

The following is a sample of qualifications which are offered through Rapid Recognition:

​Flexible Delivery, or what we used to call distance education or study by correspondence, offers someone the opportunity to undertake a course of study while balancing other commitments.  This means that the student, who for a variety of reasons, is unable to attend classes, can complete their qualification by studying at home.  This can be full time or part time and it is designed to suit the student's needs.

Delivery options include both Off Campus and On Line learning.  Both options mean that the student can access materials, resources, links to further information, assignment details and assessments outside a traditional classroom environment - either all On Line, or a mixture of On Line, by post and email, or all by post.

Why use flexible delivery?

There are a number of reasons why you may want to undertake flexible learning, such as:

• you want that 'piece of paper';
• your work hours or family commitments prevent you from attending classes;
• the course of study that you want to complete is only available at a location that is an inconvenient distance from where you live.
