Getting started on your journey after finishing school can be tough, with so many choices, expenses and paths to follow it can be a challenge to work out what’s right for you.

TAFE is the perfect transition between school and university. Our learning environment is different than a school environment, you have the opportunity to work directly with clients and take a more work focused approach rather than just as a student.

Getting started

Gain a qualification to start work straight away, or work while learning or work your way to university.

What are your options?

It’s a good idea to identify a few options, like a back-up plan. That way if your ATAR score is lower than you hoped, you have an alternative plan ready to go. There is more than one path to success.

Mapping out a career pathway can help you visualise the steps you need to take to get where you want to go. At Bendigo TAFE that journey can bring out your best and take you further than you’d hoped.

More affordable education

Bendigo TAFE is a more affordable option for higher education. Rather than the expense of paying HECS fees over many years, you have lower fees and charges and can pay your government loan sooner.
VET FEE-HELP at TAFE is similar to HECS in terms of as paying off your fees over time; it’s just less time and less cost.

Your ATAR score

Your ATAR score is no barrier to further study, you can still gain a qualification through Bendigo TAFE which will lead you to a professional career and you’ll get a head start with important industry skills too. You can still go to university too, the credits you receive from TAFE transfer to university.

Traineeships and apprenticeships

Traineeships and apprenticeships can be the beginning of a great career and you can earn while you learn. By completing this level of education you can also gain credits to enter into university.

University pathways

Starting your pathway at TAFE can reduce the time it would normally take to complete a degree at university. We have formal arrangements with La Trobe University, Deakin University and Federation University.

There are extra benefits of completing your studies at TAFE before you start university:
Develop your knowledge with hands-on, industry specific learning.
Work in your chosen field while studying.
Start off in a supportive environment with small class sizes, one-on-one interaction with teachers.

There are many ways to achieve the career of your choice. Different courses can take you towards the same job and can act as a stepping stone towards your goals.
