Commitment to Child Safety

Bendigo TAFE is a child safe organisation. We are committed to providing, in a safe environment, opportunities for children and young people to participate in education and to the empowerment of all children under 18 years of age. 
We do this by:

  • Respecting and empowering children. 
  • Ensuring a safe physical and online environment.
  • Valuing diversity and unique identities.
  • Continuous improvement practices.

From 1 July 2022, the Child Safe Standards changed to further protect children and young people. To view the new Standards click here.

Zero Tolerance

At Bendigo TAFE we have a zero tolerance to child abuse.
Allegations of child abuse should be reported to the Child Safety Officer by emailing childsafety@kangan.edu.au.
Situations in which child (ren) are at immediate risk should be reported to Police by calling '000'

Criminal Law Reform

The Victorian Government introduced three new criminal offences to further protect children (under the age of 16) from sexual abuse.
