Health and Community

Bendigo TAFE Health and Community courses are designed to prepare students for in‑demand roles across healthcare, community services and support industries. Training is practical, industry‑aligned and delivered through a range of flexible study options to suit different learners and employers.

Flexible delivery options

Courses are offered through a mix of delivery modes, depending on the qualification:

  • On‑campus delivery
Learn face‑to‑face at Bendigo TAFE's Health and Community Centre of Excellence. Students train in purpose‑built facilities, using industry‑standard equipment, simulation suites and specialist learning spaces designed to reflect real workplaces.

  • Blended learning
Some courses combine on‑campus classes with online learning, allowing students to balance study with work or personal commitments while still accessing hands‑on training and teacher support. [

  • Traineeships
Selected Health and Community qualifications are available as traineeships, enabling students to earn while they learn. Trainees complete structured training alongside paid employment, with learning taking place both in the workplace and through Bendigo TAFE coursework.

  • Workplace‑based delivery
Some courses are delivered partly or fully in the workplace, allowing students to apply their skills on the job while completing their qualification. This model supports strong links between training and real‑world practice and is commonly used in individual support and community services pathways.

Practical, hands‑on learning

Across Health and Community courses, training focuses on practical skill development. Students participate in simulation‑based learning, using realistic scenarios and equipment to build confidence before entering workplace environments.

Many qualifications also include mandatory work placement requirements, which must be completed to achieve the qualification. Placements are arranged in approved industry settings and allow students to gain real‑world experience, meet regulatory requirements and build employer‑ready skills.
