Bendigo TAFE marked Reconciliation Week with community and culture at the centre

Bendigo TAFE marked Reconciliation Week with a series of events at Bendigo City, Charleston Road and Echuca campuses, bringing together students, staff and community to celebrate First Nations culture and deepen community connections.

The Reconciliation Australia theme this year is Bridging Now to Next

Here at Bendigo TAFE, bridging now to next means listening deeply, acting purposefully and working together for lasting change. We recognise that reconciliation is about moving from acknowledgment to action – bridging where we are now to the equitable future we are building together.

Our Reconciliation Week event featured a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, activities, entertainment and lunch – all designed to foster understanding, respect and unity.

Reconciliation is ongoing, with this annual event building on the foundations of Bendigo TAFE’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which guides how we embed respect, strengthen relationships and create opportunities and culturally safe spaces where First Nations staff and students thrive. Bendigo TAFE’s RAP is a bridge between commitment and change – shaping how our organisation teaches, leads and grows.
