Register for our Reconciliation Week event

Bendigo TAFE is hosting Reconciliation Week events designed to connect our communities and everyone is invited to participate.

Join us for our interactive events at Bendigo Charleston Road Campus and Echuca Campus to learn about Indigenous culture and connect our communities. At the event, you'll experience a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, activities, entertainment and complimentary lunch.

The Reconciliation Australia theme this year is Now More than Ever. Now more than ever, we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation.

Here at Bendigo TAFE, we acknowledge the systemic disadvantage experienced by Australia’s First Nations people and are committed to reconciliation, to move forward as equals and partners.

As an educational institution, we recognise our obligation to be informed and involved in reconciliation. But it is more than an obligation – it is the right thing to do.

Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan outlines our actions to help address systemic disadvantage and racism in the communities in which we work and live.

Bendigo TAFE recognises that to truly achieve reconciliation we need to close the gaps in our understanding of Indigenous cultures and support Australia’s First Nations people to attain the same advantages afforded to non-Indigenous people.

Our vision for reconciliation is a future where First Nations peoples, their cultures, knowledge, and wisdom are celebrated and influence our approach to education, teaching and leadership. To make this a reality, we are committed to strengthening our existing partnerships with First Nations communities, fostering trust and mutual respect, enabling our staff and students to engage confidently and meaningfully with First Nations peoples.

As a leading education institute and employer, Bendigo TAFE has an established commitment to Reconciliation and self-determination for First Nations peoples and communities. Our aim is to ensure that we create a culturally safe environment for our First Nations staff and students, enabling them to thrive and succeed.
