Resignation of Bendigo Kangan Institute Chief Executive Officer Sally Curtain

Bendigo Kangan Institute announces that Chief Executive Officer Sally Curtain will step down from her role after almost six years with the Institute to take on a new opportunity as Chief Executive at the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Since joining Bendigo Kangan Institute, Ms Curtain has led the organisation with energy, vision and a deep commitment to students, staff, industry and the broader community. Under her leadership, BKI has strengthened its partnerships, expanded opportunities for learners, and continued to deliver high-quality education and training across the state.

Board Chair, Sharan Burrow AC acknowledged the impact of her leadership, saying:

“Sally Curtain has been a truly inspiring leader. Her warmth, integrity, and unwavering belief in the power of education have left a lasting mark on skills and training for Victoria.

“I thank her for her outstanding contribution and wish her all the very best in her future role.

Reflecting on her time at Bendigo Kangan Institute, Sally Curtain said:

“It has been an absolute privilege to lead this incredible organisation. Our purpose has always been such a great source of pride, and I am so proud of what the team at BKI has achieved, and will continue to achieve, in the future.”

“I’ve been constantly inspired by the people I’ve worked with and the difference we make in people’s lives every day. I leave with a full heart and will always be a proud supporter of TAFE and vocational education.”

Bendigo Kangan Institute will begin a recruitment process for a new CEO to ensure the organisation continues the important work already underway.
