My name is Elyshia, and this is my student story with Bendigo TAFE.
I began attending Bendigo TAFE one day a week while I was still at school, completing a Certificate III in Allied Health (HLT33021) during Years 10 and 11. After completing several hospital placements, I realised that nursing wasn’t the right path for me. I started considering childcare instead. I’ve always enjoyed spending time with young children, and caring for my younger sibling helped spark my interest in early childhood education.
I decided to complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121). I completed part of the course during Year 12, then finished the rest after graduating. I’m now working in the early childhood industry while studying for my Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50125) at TAFE one day a week.
I’ve had a wonderful experience at Bendigo TAFE. My teachers have been supportive throughout my studies and have done a great job of balancing important course content with hands-on learning. I’m grateful for the support and practical experience that have helped me build my career in early childhood education.
